The Kitchen Emporium has several Alliances with countertop manufacturers that use recycled materials in their products. Recycled countertops and tiles can use up to 100% recycled raw materials like glass, rubber, plastics, paper, porcelain and linoleum. There is a wide range of colour and finish options available, and most are antimicrobial, mold and heat resistant.
The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association developed the Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP) to encourage practices that benefit the environment and society. The ESP standards require that 80% of particleboard, medium density fiberboard, and hardboard used in cabinets must contain 100% recycled or recovered fiber content. The Kitchen Emporium is proud to offer products that meet or exceed these standards.
Recycled products eliminate waste from landfills, and use less energy in creation of new raw materials. These products are not only good for the environment; they have also become an economical building option with aesthetic appeal for any lifestyle.
Industry is constantly investing in new technologies that reduce emissions and maximize recycling. Advancements such as water filtering and recycling systems can now use up to 98% recycled water for manufacturing. Systems for treating Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), have allowed purification of 99% of the emissions generated by some factories.
Hazardous products should be disposed of at the proper Municipal Waste Management facilities for safe and special handling. Products such as paints, solvents and household chemicals can frequently be recycled.
Our business practices are focused on the Future Ecology by protecting and sustaining our precious environment. When our packaging and building materials cannot be reused, they are recycled whenever possible.
