Reduce

The Kitchen Emporium offers many different solutions to help reduce consumption of water, energy and materials. Improving overall efficiencies will save money over time, and will usually improve the value of your home.

Conserve water by using efficient faucets with restrictor aerators, which provide the same pressure with less volume of water. A recirculating pump will keep the water in your tap warm, and avoid the need to run water up to a minute while waiting for hot water.

Refrigerators dispensing filtered cold water will reduce or eliminate the need for bottled water, and all those empty bottles. Other appliances such as water efficient dishwashers can also reduce your water consumption on a daily basis.

Energy Star energy efficient appliances can use up to 10% to 50% less energy. New products like induction cook tops and compact dishwashers are some of the most energy efficient appliances on the market today. Many of these appliances come equipped with programmable electrical timers for managing consumption during non-peak hours.

Simple steps like planning the use of natural light can also help reduce energy consumption. Installing window tints or multi-layered curtains will retain heat in winter and block out the sun's heat in summer.

Our Alliance’s manufacturing practices have also dramatically reduced water and energy consumption. Automated controls reduce energy consumption and increase production capacity at the manufacturing level for cabinets and countertops. In addition, waste material reduction has lessened the need for special treatments or disposal.

Use of renewable materials such as bamboo, cork and lyptus, having rapid regeneration cycles, reduce our dependence on other less hardy species. The reduced use of solvents in manufacturing has been replaced with durable water-based finishes and low emitting adhesives and sealants, which also improve indoor air quality.
